Students can take a picture and submit it to compete.

Here are some Tips that may help:

  • Follow the rule of thirds:  think of your lens as thirds, make your shots more interesting by off-centering

  • Scenery makes the shot look more interesting

  • Move in close

  • Watch the light....mornings and late evenings are great

  • Use the flash outdoors

  • Take many shots

  • Try new things

  • Have Fun!

Students can use any software/apps to manipulative photos to submit in this category.

When the manipulatived photo is submitted the original one must be as well, so the depth of manipulation can be judged.

Pixir: is my favorite site, it is very user-friendly, lets you upload photos from your computer and edit them right in the browser. You can then save the finished product.

There are three choice versions of pixir you can use.

  • Pixlar-o-matice easy, use computer stored images, webcam images, or even use as an app. This app is the most simple of the three softwares.

  • Pixlr express is my favorite, very user friendly, great to us on your computer.

  • Pixlr Editor has layer and reminds me of the more expensive photoshop software.
