Technical Writing

2    DIFFERENT  Categories

Technical writing allows students to showcase their writing skills in the creation of a piece of writing created for a specific purpose that is in-depth and comprehensive.

Technical writing is a form of communicating information.  Technical writing involves the creation of useful documents that can be clearly understood by others.  This category can be about understanding a software or hardware product or can be traditional technical document.

This category will be split into two groups, one focusing on teaching a technical concept or explaining it and the other will be more open to the use of technology.

Technical Writing I:

The student provides a clear and precise suggestion or direction for using technology to solve a real problem.  The student must identify a specific problem and provide a creative or innovation solution to share.

Technical Writing II:

The student uses technology as a tool to create real world writing pieces.  This category focuses on those items that they can create across the curriculum.
